Viva Verdi – Riga Opera Festival 2016

This season, Elena makes her debut at the Opera House Riga on May 1 (with another performance on May 9) as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto with the Riga Opera Festival.
In 2008 Elena debuted at the Concert House in Riga to great acclaim as Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) with the Latvian National symphony orchestra, performing alongside Elina Garanca as Romeo, under the baton of Karel Marc Chichon. She returned in Spring 2010 as Elvira in Bellini’s I Puritani, also conducted by Karel Mark Chichon.

The Riga Opera Festival, founded in 1998 as the first festival of its size and scale in Eastern Europe, has already become a valuable tradition.
The festival is highly anticipated by both Latvian audience and opera-lovers from abroad.Every summer, the festival marks the end of the Latvian National Opera’s performance season.Festival of 2016 will be dedicated to one composer only – to musical genius, Italian Romantic Giuseppe Verdi.

Spring events in Dortmund

This spring, Elena Gorshunova makes her highly anticipated return to the Klangvokal Musikfestival Dortmund. Teatro di San Carlo

In her staged debut with the company, Elena Gorshunova headlines ” Il Ratto dal Serraglio/ Die Entführung aus dem Serail ” at Naples’s Teatro di San Carlo. Return to Semperoper

This autumn, Elena Gorshunova returns to Semperoper to reprise her acclaimed portrayal of Konstanze – seen on the Semperoper stage in 2011 – in Mozart’s ” Die Entführung aus dem Serail”.
